Dog Trainer with German Shepherd

Lem E.

My name is Lemuel Esquivel, I’m 27 years old and I am a lead trainer for Dog Magnet Training. As a U.S. Navy veteran, I’ve built my training philosophy on discipline, structure, and trust — values that I now bring into every dog I work with.

I currently share my life with three amazing dogs: Jarvis, a 2½-year-old American Staffordshire mix; Seven, my 2-year-old German Shepherd and certified Bomb Detection Dog; and Kal, my young Catahoula Leopard Dog who is following in Seven’s pawsteps to become a detection dog as well.

My expertise lies in aggression and reactivity cases, as well as training high-drive working line breeds that need both structure and purpose. I believe every dog can become a well-balanced companion when given proper guidance, clear communication, and patience.

When I’m not training, I enjoy working out at the gym, taking my dogs on walks and parks, and doing scent work. I’m also a big fan of video games, love spending time with my wife, and enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes.

At Dog Magnet Training, my mission is simple: to create stronger bonds between owners and their dogs through balanced, effective, and compassionate training.

Hey! I’m Kinsey — a veterinary nurse turned dog trainer with a passion for helping dogs and their humans understand each other better. I use kind, positive training methods to build confidence, trust, and great behavior.
With my vet nursing background, I know how closely health and behavior are connected, and I love making training fun, stress-free, and rewarding for every pup.

Woman with Herding Dog and Poodle

Piper C.

Hi, I’m Piper

I started taking care of my neighbors' two elderly poodles before and after school when I was just 8 years old. Once I was in high school I was frequently staying at neighbors homes to watch their pets. This was all in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The same trend continued when I moved to Utah. I would house sit for friends often “borrowing” their dogs for hikes and outings. I have a personal relationship with each dog. I love all their personalities and little quirks. I would love to get to know your dog.

I love taking dogs to Memory Grove, Millcreek Canyon, and Neffs Canyon. Off leash is preferred and after getting to know them first, I prefer taking dogs to off leash areas.

I make sure their safety comes first. While making sure your pup has plenty of fun, we want to make sure your pup is in an environment where they are set up for success. We do this by avoiding crowded dog parks, or places that would be uncomfortable, and sometime we just have to try out sitting on a coffee shop patio to learn that that is not our thing.

The thing is I just love dogs, and dogs and I love a lot of the same things, so we get to fill up each others cups.

If you are looking for more support with your pup I am always happy to serve.

“Hi, I’m Amaya!

I’m passionate about helping dogs and their families thrive through positive training experiences. As the Appointment Setter, I love connecting with the community of Salt Lake City pet parents.

I am proud to call Salt Lake City home, and one of my favorite things about this area is the incredible access to the mountains! You can find me snowboarding on the mountains or splitboarding with furry friends”

TeJon W.

Hey Salt Lake Valley, I’m TeJon — the Owner and Head Trainer here at Dog Magnet Training. My passion is helping dogs and their people build trust, confidence, and balance together. With a background in hospitality, nonprofits, and professional mechanics, I’ve learned how to connect with all kinds of personalities — both two- and four-legged — and bring patience, structure, and heart to every session.

When I’m not working with clients, you can usually find me officiating on the basketball court or baseball field, training in martial arts, or geeking out over anime and superhero culture. I’m also a proud family man who believes in living with integrity, energy, and purpose — values that guide everything I do, both in life and in training.
